Stephen Anthony's

Saturday night we went to Stephen Anthony's in Marlboro to celebrate my Dad's Birthday. It was Mom and Dad, and my Wife, Son and Me.

Appearance: Set right off RT 20 in Marlboro Stephen Anthony's is a Small white building next to the Wayside Country Store. It is set on Hager Pond. There is an attached Ice Cream stand to the restaurant. The restaurant it's self was nothing fancy, just a bunch of booths and tables, and a small bar. We had a lovely booth with a window right on the pond, and were able to watch the ducks and swan until it got to dark. The lighting was not the best, and the restaurant was a little on the cool side. Most guest kept their sweaters or jackets on.

Food: Stephen Anthony's serves Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. We had dinner on this night. They specialize in home made sausage, so we had to start with the sausage sampler which consisted that night of Maple Sausage, German Beer Sausage, and Italian Herb sausage served with Maple glaze, marinara sauce, and honey Dijon as dipping sauce's, and 4 pieces of garlic toast topped with roasted red peppers. It was an excellent choice to start off the meal. Mom ordered the Turkey dinner served on top of sausage stuffing with Dry mashed potatoes, excellent mixed vegetables. It was only lacking gravy. Dad tried the Sausage and potato skillet, a overly large serving of Italian sausage peppers and home fry style potatoes with the mixed vegetables. My wife decided on the Glazed Baked ham served with sweet potato grilled biscuit, and apple sauce, all of which was very good, and I went with the maple glazed chicken on top of sausage stuffing with dry mashed potatoes and cinnamon apples. My son ordered the pasta and sauce off the kids menu, and picked off all of our plates too. The portions were all huge and we all had leftovers to bring home.

Value: I thought the value was great. most meals well under $20, and appetizers under $10. We left for $80 without tip for the 5 of us, and had plenty to take home with us. The Sausage Sampler was defiantly worth $8.50 being homemade.

Service: The Service was nice. Around 6PM, and they were not crowded. We were promptly greeted by the hostess and seated. The waitress kept glasses full, refilled the bread basket as needed. The only slow part of the evening was waiting for the check.

I would love to come back to Stephan Anthony's fro breakfast some time when the Wayside Country store is open, and my son can feed the ducks.
