Spikes Junkyard Dogs

So this past weekend we headed to the Emerald Square Mall for some Holiday shopping, and while we were there, we stopped for lunch in the food court. To my delight there was a Spikes Junkyard Dogs recently opened. It was a must have for me after sampling these at the Phantom Gourmet Food Festival earlier this year.

Appearance: It was in a food court, so appearance was such. The seating was shared with all the other under par's like burger King and Arbys. There was allot of diamond plating on things to give the garage look.

Food: The menu consists of Jumbo All beef dogs, and chicken sandwich's along with things like fries and chips. My wife ordered the Texas Ranger which was the Jumbo all beef dog served on fresh toasted sub roll topped with BBQ Sauce, Cheddar and bacon. She was a bit disappointed as she thought is would be pour over cheddar. I tried the Junkyard Dog, Jumbo all beef on a toasted homemade roll topped with Tomato, pickle, scallions, pepperoncini, and spikes mustard. We both loved this one. I also tried the Buffalo Dog topped with Buffalo Sauce, Blue Cheese, and scallions. Also very good. For a side order we shared some cheese fries, that were excellent.

Value: A bit pricey at 3.60 a dog, but worth the money to get a good hot dog with all the toppings on such a good bun. It cost us $18 to eat here this day.

Service: Service was good. There is a bit of a wait as they make everything fresh, but that is a good thing.

I truly enjoyed my hot dogs at Spikes, and would defiantly eat here again.
